The MLB playoffs have been full of exciting moments and nail biters. The playoffs started Tuesday, October 5th, 2021, at Fenway Park. Where the Boston Red Sox played the New York Yankees. The Yankees pitching could not stop the Red Sox hitting and they ended up losing 2-6. The next day, we had an exciting matchup between the defending champs LA Dodgers and the St. Louis Cardinals. It went all the way to the 9th inning tied 1-1, but Dodgers shortstop Chris Taylor sent the Cardinals home with a two run home run to walk it off.

With the end of the wild card, the very anticipated Division Series started. The matchups for the National League included the two teams with more than 100 wins and the underdog Braves vs the Brewers. The Braves did not start the series how they wanted to but fought their way back, upsetting the Brewers and winning the series 3-1. Now, the Dodgers vs the Giants. These two teams absolutely dominated this year and they both showed why they are the best out there. They battled back and forth going game for game and ended up forcing a final game 5. The final game was a pitchers duel with each team only allowing 1 run in 8 innings, but with a runner on 1st and 2nd. Cody ‘The Goat’ Bellinger stepped up to the plate and delivered, hitting a go ahead run in the 9th inning. The Dodgers had the ace Max Scherzer close the game and the Dodgers ended up sending the Giants home.

The matchups in the American league included the power hitting Red Sox vs the very talented Rays. Also the postseason monsters (Astros) vs the Chicago whitesox. The Astros vs Whitesox series was very one sided and the Astros showed why they are one of the best postseason teams in the league. Their  bats were on fire and they knocked out the Whitesox winning the series 3-1. The first series started off with the Rays winning a dominant game 1, but the Red Sox answered back right away winning the next game. They traveled back to Fenway and Boston took the series at home, winning it 3-1.

With the National and American League Championships happening right now, here are my predictions. For the National League, I believe that the Dodgers have a chance to turn around the series, but the Braves have been looking very dominant and I do not see them slowing down anytime soon. As for the American League, I believe the Red Sox bats are too good right now and Astros pitching has been struggling lately. But the Astros still have a good chance to come back, but I do not see that happening. I believe that the Red Sox and Braves are going to meet in the World Series, with the Braves winning it all.
